So I am trying to get a handle on this 12v rail thing for video cards.

I'm looking at the evga 260 which requires a 500w PSU with +12v 36 amps.

I can get a good deal on an Antec True Power Trio (650w) which says +12v is at 19 amps but it has 3 rails. Does that mean I have a total of 57 amps on a +12v or does it mean I have only 19?

I'm just trying to figure out how to read these things. Thanks!
 
Actually, the label on the PSU already tells you how much amps you have the +12VV rail. If you look underneath the chart in the Truepower Trio label, you'll see "+12V1, +12V2, and +12V3 max. load: 52A"

So the Truepower Trio has a total of 52A on the +12V rail, which is plenty of power for a system with the GTX260. Also, note that the 36A rating is for a system with the GTX260, not just for the GTX260 alone.

However, you can do better than the Trio for just $5 more:
Corsair 750TX 750W PSU - $105

The Corsair 750TX has 60A on the +12V rail and only costs $5 more than the True Power Trio 650W.

The reason why I was looking to get the Antec PSU was from a bundle deal with the Antec Three Hundred case. I do know that a good PSU is important so is it worth losing the $40 savings to get the Corsair over the Antec?

The corsair is an excellent PSU, however for $40, I'd go with the Antec.

Technically it's <$25 when you factor in the TX750 $20 rebate.
 
I used a Antec 550w truepower 2.0 to power the HD4870 which uses about same power as 260 with no problem. 650w should be more than enough.
