Hello, I recently had a machine go down and it was running w2k.
I have a program that couldn't be backed up (the backups came out corrupt).
I need to pull the registry values from the hdd and put them into a new system. I have the files copied, but I'm not sure how or if I can pull the records out and restore them. This system has financial information so it is very important that I be able to restore it.

Thanks in advance,

I don't think you can migrate installed information from the registry. If the HDD is fine, why not stick it in another machine, run a repair on the install and be done with it?

you can use regedit's "load hive" functions. The hives are stored in \system32\config

My win2k disc got scratched on the driver.cab file...... having a friend get me the cab so i can fix it.
Also I found that the program had no reg entries, however it required MS visual foxpro, so i am going to install the software and try replacing the working folder with that of the old install.

Used Erd Commander, found that there were no reg. entries i needed to copy so I'm happy :)
