I have a video file that I want to chop some parts out of and save it so the file is shorter and smaller. I want to be able to do this without losing any quality. I thought it would be a simple thing in VirtualDub but the resulting file was larger than the original.

Any ideas on how I could do this?

Virtual Dub allows you to do a direct stream copy if you don't want any additional processing on it like re-encoding/recompression.

Depends what type HD video file we're talking about.. which codec.

That's what I needed, thanks! Worked great.

It was DivX, BTW.
