ECS video cards, quality?

ECS doesn't manufacture video cards. It's the same as most other 8600GTS cards: OEM reference design cards probably manufactured by the same place. Same cards, different sticker on the HSF for cards using the reference HSF. :p

$120 is really cheap.

Actually ECS may be responsible for the manufacturing of the card, they do have their own facilities for doing so if they wish.

Unlike the G80 (8800 GTS/GTX/Ultra) I believe the board partners actually have the freedom to produce their own designs on the 8600 series boards if they so desire. This is why you'll eventually see a variety of board designs and colors when it comes to the 8600, 8500, and 8400 boards.

This picture illustrates my point about the cards coming from one place (generally): http://www.ixbt.com/video3/images/g80-8/collage.jpg It's not just the PCB design, notice the stickers placed on the PCBs by the OEM for those cards.

Slap a label or two and install a logo sticker on the HSF and you too can become a video card "manufacturer." :p

Guess what, chief? Those are all G80 (8800) boards.

Go back, re-read my post again.

I'm not sure if this means the card is different or not, but why does it only list 1 feature under its specifications?

Edit: googled the ECS card and it seems to be legit preformance wise, the website doesnt give mention of or review the features though.

You go re-read, squaw. I adressed the 8600GTS in the first post and made a separate post to show my point that most cards come from the same OEM.
