Wasn't getting many bites over on the Intel Motherboard section, so I decided to post it over here and see if you guys had any ideas.
System Specs:
Pentium D 805 (slightly OC'd to 2.92 Ghz set in BIOS at 1.375v) with a Scythe Ninja hs/fan
Aforementioned ECS mobo
G.Skill DDR2 667 PC2 5400 2x1GB (manually set to 266, 4-4-4-12 timings at 2.0v)
EVGA GeForce 7600 GT
Antec Smartpower 500w PSU
2 problems with this setup that I have encountered thus far. First, the FSB for the processor won't go past 146Mhz (2.92Ghz per core). It will post and immediately reboot. Other people said they have hit 3.3Ghz easy on this board (according to Newegg reviews anyway.... don't know how much faith I put in that though). The CPU is Prime/SuperPi stable at 146FSB and sits at 35C on idle and about 45-46 on load. Any ideas why I can't get it to budge over 3.0 Ghz?
Second, the computer will post, but will immediately reboot when the RAM is in Dual Channel slots 2/4. I can't try it in 1/3 because the fan is in the way, but I guess I could move it for testing purposes. The computer will boot and operate fine when the RAM is in slots 3/4. The RAM has passed the Windows System Analysis RAM tester with no issues(http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp). ECS is useless, they told me to "check the RAM, make sure the RAM is in the right slots, etc". I know the RAM is pretty good, it will clock up to around 730-740Mhz
Anybody got any ideas for either issue?
