I was looking at ram and i noticed majority of ram is non-ECC but some is ECC. Whats the difference and will it cause compatability issues if i used a ecc and non-ecc stick at same time as a dual channel setup?

ECC RAM is error checking and correction. It's a bit slower and a bit more stable, so it's used in servers. It's also a bit more expensive.

I'm pretty sure you can't mix them. Why would you want to?

no reason, just wondering cuz im a bit out there, but thanks i didnt know what the difference was
