We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

ECC vs. Non-parity

Whats the advantage of ECC?

Is there any reason why a normal desktop/gamer machine would need ECC?

Thanks

Not really. It's a personal preference. Using ECC is considered "slower memory" due to the error checking. But when you're talking milliseconds I personally don't think it's a noticable difference. It's not neccessary for a gaming machine and if you want to squeeze all you can performance wise, then go with non ecc.

You only need error checking in servers. There's no reason to have it on a gaming machine. It just wastes one extra clock cycle to check the memory for errors.
