I am putting together a server machine that will be used to run a multi-threaded program. I used the following configuration:

SUPERMICRO MBD-X8DTL-iF-O Dual LGA 1366 Intel 5500 ATX Dual Intel Xeon 5500 and 5600 Series Server Motherboard

The question I have is about ECC Unbuffered vs. ECC Registered memory. I have chosen either of the two, which one do you guys recommend?

Get REG ECC for xeon lga1366 boards. If you are doing xeons on lga1155 you need unbuffered ecc. Registered memory is preferred for better stability with large modules.
