After having my server for about 6 months now, I am at a dilemma on memory configurations. I currently have an 8GB stick of 1333 ECC memory and wanting to upgrade to 32GB. Should I continue to buy the 8GB 1333 ECC sticks at a premium price of about $95/stick or go with the 1600 ECC memory which is now cheaper (about $70/stick) than its 1333 counterpart?

My server setup:
Case: Fractal Design Define Mini Black Micro ATX Silent PC Computer Case w/ USB 3.0 support and 2 x 120mm Fractal Design Silent Fans
Power Supply: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Motherboard: SuperMicro MBD-X10SLM-F-O MBD-X10SLM-F-O uATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 Intel C224 DDR3 1600
Processor: Intel Xeon E3-1240V3 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 80W Quad-Core Server Processor BX80646E31240V3
Memory: Kingston 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 ECC Unbuffered Server Memory w/TS Intel Model KVR16E11/8I
Storage:
- 1X Samsung 840 Series 250GB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive, 530MB/s Read and 240MB/s Write Speed
- 1X Seagate Desktop 3TB SATA 6.0 (6 Gb/s) 7200 RPM 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
- 3X TOSHIBA PH3300U-1I72 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit

I would get DDR3 1600 and use them at DDR3 1333 if needed. Although since you only have 1 DDR3 1333 stick you could sell that and get all DDR3 1600 sticks.
