Ebay charges tax?

Wait, I thought sales tax could only be charged 1x? If it is used, then the state can't collect sales tax again... Can they?

They sure can, and do. It's called "sales tax", not "initial sales tax". :) Many states collect sales tax on used vehicles, too, which is thousands of dollars a pop most of the time.
 
I was surprised by the tax when I sold some stuff a few weeks ago as it's been a long time, since I've used eBay to sell. However, as most people have said it was only a matter of time for this to happen. Gone are the glory days of not paying tax at Amazon and eBay (haha).
 
Ya ebay found a way to scam buyers by illegally collecting tax. I'm pretty sure it's the seller who is supposed to collect the sales tax, not the intermediary. The seller can set a tax for their lisitngs and ebay will still collect their own tax on top. Ebay is doing double taxation if you ask me.
