I was wondering if you guys knew a solution to slow browser loading and flash player just eating up all the ram.

Debating to upgrade ram or buy an ssd.

I go to the same sites. Maybe hust clear my cache and see if that cleans it up but i highly thats a solution.

Ive been out of it for a while. W7 outdated? LOL

Build:
I5 3550k a z77 itx bord w i believe 8gbs of ram and integrated graphics card.

I don't think the OS has anything to do with it. But if go to websites that have a lot of commercials like wccftech or yibada that will happen. I don't know what browser you use but i use Chrome and check for regular updates but keep Firefox as an alternative as well. I have the same 8GB of ram like you and two old busted hdds in raid0 and this is not happening. W7U x64.

An SSD will not help with your RAM problems, and buying more RAM will only help if you are actually running out of RAM. The best solution IMO would be to not install/use Flash at all. I don't anymore.

Based on the description of the problem it sounds like IE which is notorious for eating up memory when open for extended periods of time or when using flash based stuff. LIke the Marstg stated Chrome or Firefox would be better suited.

If you've been out of it for a long time, maybe it's Windows Update in the background trying to load in a lot of updates?

i hate windows update and its just a cluster of random crap.

i hate flash player it eats up so much ram. 3gb total if i'm just playing dota. w flash and firefox i'm looking at like 3gb also but its so slow.

3570k (should i overclock?) not 3550k

Overclocking would not help your issue. Try switching to Chrome. Export your bookmarks and import them in Chrome. At 8GB I would also delete the swap file if you have any. Leave your pc on 24/7 and put it to install updates like at 3 am. In the morning you will find it freshly updated.

Install the Windows updates.

Tons of fixes.

The ONLY thing I don't get from Windows update that it provides is drivers. Everything else you should let it install.

Having an unpatched Windows 7 system.. I am not surprised that it is freaking out on you.

And IF you want to upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE, then go here:

Stable 3.8ghz but my ram keeps getting eaten up. Not sure if the 8gb is enough or move up to faster mhz?
