Well, I no long have a watercooling system in my case (got rid of it when I upgraded to an Athlon 64 setup) so I'm back to air cooling for now...

The the CPU didn't come with a heatsink, so I bought this Thermaltake Venus 12

I thought it might help if I ducted air directly to the cpu from outside the case, so i also bought these:

and
FrozenCPU.com Black Thermalhood Overclocking Kit

i wanted to duct air from the front of the case like this diagram, but the expandable duct was not long enough.

so, i ended up doing this:

thanks to the front intake duct, i'm now getting 3c lower at idle, and 7c lower at load. not too bad!

also, i was thinking of taking it a step further and doing something like this:

buy this heatsink

and then set it up like this....cold air in, hot air out:

(after i made that diagram i realized this heatsink mounts with the openings on the sides, not top and bottom, but you get the idea.

just thought i would share

wow nice...i may do something like that for my computer :)

nice drop in temp too

do that with a scythe ninja, you can easily get 2 fans on it, too, and you don't have to worry how it's mounted on the cpu, cuz it's symmetrical on all four sides.

Nice!

Like the case graphics too.
Is that a ....er...sticker thingy or an airbrush job?
:)
