General question, i really couldn't find a specific answer to this thru a search, so i figured i'd get a quick answer...
As the "computer genius" of the family (very far from the truth actually), i am always contacted to fix crap - viruses, spyware/adware infections, determining hardware issues, etc...
Now, when it came to windows-based/software issues i would normally attempt the easily method, by just logging on and attempting to scan for viruses/spyware by manually loading on software to do so - but in the case where the computer is FUBAR, my options would be....?
I'm assuming... load the hard drive onto another computer, or mount in an external drive and go thru USB - then use the working computer to scan the drive. Or is there an easier method i'm missing? How do companies like Geek Squad and Firedog services do their scans and remove junk?
