I will be heading to college soon and my parents have just recently started ripping their music to their computer along with storing GBs of photos. Currently, I will VNC to their machine every so often and backup that stuff on to my server, but that is going with me. So, I was wondering what you guys (or gals) think would be the best NAS that would be completely transparent to them. My modest requirements are as follows:
I would like to not spend a fortune on this device. They won't be using it as their main storage, just an external backup in case of their internal drive failure.
Thanks.
- Automatic backup of data. Preferably as soon as they write the data to the disk.
- Completely transparent because they aren't that good with computers.
- Remote management over the internet so that I can work on it if necessary from school.
