Easiest route to 3D?

I tried the IZ3D anaglyph 3D on some games and after adjusting, I was able to get a convincing 3D effect. I like it. But the red/cyan glasses thing is far from great.
I would like to go with the real deal.
I currently have a HD5750 card and I know Nvidia has a complete solution. But that would mean, replacing the card, plus buying there 3D kit; PLUS buying a comparable monitor.
What do you think the cheapest way to go would be for good 3D gaming?
 
For anything beyond anaglyphic 3D you need a stereoscopic monitor, which means 120Hz, so a new display is going to be needed regardless. If you just want to dabble with 3D with your existing card you can pick up a 3D monitor like:

But you will of course need some glasses for that.
The nvidia kit is $150, some plain glasses for the AMD version are similarly expensive.

I've not read into the technology enough to know if the nvidia glasses work with AMD's 3D.
