Easiest DATABASE for a Site

I'm new to web site building, and I was wondering what would be the easiest way for me to build a web based database that I can use to sell things with?

Any ideas?

My site:
http://www.itembazaar.com/

do you mean a database, or a shopping cart system? Database is what is used to hold info but its not visable by itself on the website.

If it is shopping cart I would suggest OSCommerce(free) which uses mysql database to hold its info. or Miva (pay)

Another vote for OSCommerce running against a mySQL database.

My generic/default install is at http://bakakame.brainchasm.com

So far, it's been flawless, and very nice to work with.

(and I realize all the items are ridiculously priced...that's what you get with a default install)
