Since newegg is selling the Antec Earthwatts 500W PSU for $45, I'm thinking about jumping on this deal for me new system. Is this a sufficient PSU for my upcoming build?

Geforce 8800GS
3 Sata HDs
DVD burner
4 gigs PC6400 RAM
5 120mm fans

I'm considering buying that PSU for a similar build, and wondering the same thing. I hear they are built by Seasonic and overall a pretty good PSU in terms of efficiency.

Just as a bit of reference, BFG Technologies recommends a power supply that can put out 28.0 amps on that 12 volt rail, for their 8800 GTS.

The Antec Earthwatts 500 watt unit can put out 34.0 amps, so you should be just fine.

The thing that worries me is that this only has 1 80mm fan on the back, so not sure how hot it runs. But spec wise, it is extremely similar to the Seasonic 500w (why shouldn't it be, it is SS built after all), which is a very good and stable PSU.
