earthwatts 500 enough?

Current system:

Gigabyte ga-945gcm-s2c mobo
cd2 2140 cpu
2 1gig 667 ddr2 ram
seagate 500gig sata hd 1ea
wd 320 gig sata hd 2 ea
Memorex 16x dvd burner
Evga 8800gt video card
Winxp pro
Antec Earthwatts 500

Currently I have only one wd 320 as above I will have 1 Seagate and 2 western digital 320s

according the extreme psu caculator 2.5 this will only require 266 watts. How far off are these calculators. I think I will be okay. Just wanted a few opinions. Thanks!!
 
500 watt Earthwatts is more than enough for your setup. The extra harddrives won't really load that PSU. That 8800GT with 4 HD will be fine.
 
I have another system almost the same except it is running a 8600gts and an Antec true 480. Could this system also handle 4 drives?

WD 320 GIG if psu capable

Antec tru 480 2.0

Win XP pro

If this can handle it I will put the WD 320 in it so I consolidate my Divx videos and Music

Yeah it can. However, from what most of the people on here experience with the Antec True power line of PS, they are not reliable. They have been crapping out alot. But, if yours seem to be running well than by all means you can put the WD320.

Yeah that should run fine, I have a similar rig with an e2180 and an 8800GT. Using the Extreme Outervision PSU calculator I only need 355W for my rig, OC'd to 3.2 ghz and with 25% capacitator aging on my PSU.
 
500w could probably give you the ability to run another video card if there's an extra pCI-E 6 pin

people have usually overrated how powerful the system is.

That is true. I recommend buying a kill-a-watt meter so you get a good idea of what your computer draws from the outlet. They are a lot of fun anyway.
 
with a 8800gt and was told it would need more since theres only 17a on each rail.

So you guys think it will be fine?*other parts are q6600 cpu, 2gigs ram, 1xHD and 1xOptical drive

Same here, running the earthwatts on an 8800gt w/ a Q6600 oc'ed to 3.6. You'll definitely be fine.
