I'm putting together a new system and my IP35-E has a 8-pin 12v connector on it but the PSU only has a 4-pin cable. Will it work with just the 4-pin?

read your motherboard manual, I remember on my old DFI 975X it told me exactly in which of the 8 holes to place my 4 pin motherboard connector.

I'll try it with just the one connector. I won't the CPU for another few days. I was about to see if I could use the PCI-E connector but the wire colors were backwards so I decided against that.

It did snap into place though I wonder what would happen if I turned it on.
