3 weeks ago, I put together a PC using the Sonata III case with the Earthwatts500 PSU, in the early stages before updating the graphic drivers , I would get some total freezups and have to reboot. The other night, a few hours before a thunderstorm, the power supply seems to fail and the computer cant be started without a few seconds or minutes in leading to turning completey off. I did some reading and read that this wasnt too uncommon with the older antec PSUs?

Could I RMA for a new EW500? what are some good suggestions for PSU's that would fit in the Sonata III case?

This is what I've had running.

Board: Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L
Case/PSU: Sonata III 500
HDD: WD6400 AAKS
Drive: SH-S203B
RAM: corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600
GPU: GeFORCE 8800GS
OS : XP x64

Thanks a lot

have you tried putting the psu into another computer to try it out? and is your antec a older version? since you put your computer together 3 weeks ago

no, the earthwatt 500 comes with the Sonata III case which was bought 3 weeks ago with all the parts. I'll unplug everything , isolate it and check it out. Once these damned thunderstorms pass....

I think it's new Unless they've issued a new model within the last 3 weeks... Hmm
