I did a search and came up with nothing for these (in thread titles at least). Some early crossfire benchmarks, doesn't look to bad so far.

And remember people EARLY benchmarks so in advance stfu with the "OMG DURR 6800 SLI BEATS IT IN TWO BENCHMARKs OMGOMGOMG!!!!!JIZZ" bullshit. The performance with the exception of one benchmark is very tight between the bunch.

just kidding. looks like we will still have to wait to see when crossfire comes out and the r502
 
I'm sure crossfire will be an exciting new technology, but that said, I would never trust ATI (noobs in the high-end chipset business) to make my chipset. I would always go nforce as long as I had an AMD cpu, which is why naturally I would stick to SLi.

Crossfires not due till around august so they've still time to get it running faster than it is.
 
It would be all good if this was available to the market say, 2 months ago. I really dont care now and have lost intrest in ATi :(

They were saying the same thing about July back in June. Next thing you know it might be "It's not due till the r520 comes out in September".

Well they'll most likely release it a month or 2 before r520, if they don;t then i can still see people buying it, not everyone wants the highest end card so they could add an x850 or whatever to their current board, which is what im considering doing.
 
lol nvidia will have 2 generations out before ati even hits one new one with the r520....

Its horrible I know. But it could be true....

NVidia just planned this round alot better than ATi did.

ATi will come back though. Im sure the R520 is going to Kick ass whenever it does surface
 
hehe, sorry. I am not a fanb0y of any kind. I dont pick brands because I just like one. I have previously owned ATI cards, and love the cards, and their warranty through ATI. I just think they have to pull something pretty incredible to get back on track with the top notch performing cards.


The disadvantage ATI has though is that when they release the r520, nVidia will likely have another version of the 7800, or something better to counter the r520... kind of a circle of one company the best > other company the best.
 
I was an ATI fan for a long time but there's no way you can't say that right now nVidia is kicking their ass huge right now. It's obvious why their next gen card hasn't been introduced yet (even in normal paper release normal release form), they don't have jack right now. Anyone that thinks different is fooling themselves.

If ATI had an ACE up their sleave they would have presented it already like they usually do.

So theyve had several respins of a non existant chip costing several million dollars each time. Yup thats obviously the answer, glad you posted in this thread my iq has just gained several points from your highly intelligent post.

That said, even though ATI is falling behind, this is a good time to do so, because right now in the PC gaming department, Battlefield2 is the only game that matters to people upgrading lately. when we start getting near winter, thats when some very amazing games are coming out, more games that will use sm 3.0, HDR etc.. like the new elder scrolls game. even if ATI had a great card at this time, i wouldn't really care, im not upgrading till late fall or winter, because there just aren't enough games that will push the latest video cards to justify a purchase, imo.

about half a dozen threads were done around computex, just search for crossfire.
