I see the ask question tab now.
How does this sound? (Regarding a bf1942 cd key)

Recently my harddisk failed and needed to be replaced/RMAed. Upon recieving the new,
functioning drive I formated and installed Windows XP and all of my applications. To my
dismay after installing battlefield 1942 and all of its patches I am unable to join any
multiplayer servers. I then remembered that I had this problem previously and it was
resolved when your company issued my a new CD key and deactivated the one printed on
the game case. I do not know what that CD key is as it was lost in the process of the
drive failure. If you could provide my with a new cd key I would be happy. :D

Attached is a scan of my game case and the two CDs in a .jpeg format.

Thanks, Art Palmer

Sounds like you're wrapping up this thread so I'll post in here instead of creating a new one.

This weekend my buddies had a LAN Party in Michigan and he put the game server in the DMZ so that I could connect. That way they could all be on their LAN and play and yet I could play remotely.

Everything worked fine except for this:

We ran the WW2 Mod for Battlefield Vietnam. So I haven't played that game in awhile so I broke out my BFV disks and installed them, then ran BFV 1.2 patch then installed the WW2 Mod , then the 1.2.1 post patch (Small patch). Luckily I downloaded those already on my laptop and just transfered them to my desktop since I was going over to my inlaws house who have a slower DSL Line then me, so I could actually get cell phone signal so I could trash talk the guys on the phone.

WELL when I connect to the WW2 server (and all but one guy at the LAN) we get a "Corrupt Data" error. Googled and found that you have to install the WW2 Mod on top of the 1.1 BFV patch, then the 1.2 then the 1.2.1.

Well now I have to download the 1.1 patch YEAH EASIER SAID THEN DONE. Because only the smaller not-so-updated sites have that file still. SO I try to DL it and about 2 HOURS later I get it... I finally found it on a German site and got it at 60KB a second which is fine but it was VERY hard to find after several D/L timeouts other places.

Well it took me a lot of attempts to find this information out because I had to unnstall the game and mod a few times and after 3 hours total I finally could connect.

EA created the WW2 Mod yet they couldn't even make it work unless you follow the SPECIFIC method. None of which were posted on EA's site. ACK! Just a pain.

WEll look what I got.

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

The CD key listed in the image should now work online again. If you continue to get errors, please reply with the email address that you have before when you requested a new serial number.

Not bad for a company that everyone hates. :D
