E8500 temps read 50C constant

I have my new E8500 running on water cooling and went to test the temps. Both RealTemp and CoreTemp read the temps as 50C ALWAYS. The min/max temp never change, it just sits at 50C. I am running 64-bit Vista. Previously when I tested the temps on air I got 50C idle and 63C under load. Does this mean my sensor is stuck to 50C and on water my load temps are not surpassing that so not being recognized? When I'm in the BIOS I see the cpu temp is at 28C... so that confuses me a bit. Any ideas or input would be appreciated. thx
 
yea with stock settings on the E8500 running intel burntest didnt break 50C. I just upped the FSB to 400Mhz with a 9.5 multiplier and ran it again and now temps are hitting 53C avg. 54C max, 47C min. kinda strange that is showed the 47 min, but i guess the temps seem okay if 53C is accurate. I know the intel burntest takes some peoples chips to 70+ so I'm happy. The other thing to consider is that I dont currently have my GTX 260 in the loop and am running a 120x3 radiator so its probably keeping my cpu pretty damn cool atm.
 
Intel says that some of these sensors can become saturated or stick at any temperature below 50C. Looks like you've got a couple of sensors like that.

I just updated RealTemp 2.84 with a more thorough Sensor Test. It probably won't tell you anything you don't already know but you can download it here if you want to give it a try.

Post your results so we can see what crappy sensors look like. Run it at 400 x 9.5 so maybe it will get over 50C.
 
I finally managed to get some loaded temp readings. I used the RealTemp beta linked above and pushed my Vcore up to 1.275, FSB to 450Mhz. Running intel burn test took it to a max temp of 62*C. I'm pretty damn happy with that since some people are hitting 70+ running it. However, the temps can and probably will be wildly different once I get my 260 into the loop. Kinda bummed I can't get and idle readings though, but they dont matter very much i guess.
