I know 3dmark06 isnt the best or most current way to benchmark your performance, but im just curious if anyone would happen to know why i get roughly 1-2 fps on the CPU test. The video card tests go great but my cpu, not so great.

Currently its an e8400 under stock cooling

I unfortunately don't have an answer for you, however, I get the same result when I run 3Dmark06. I have the same cpu, mobo and amount of ram.

That test would be the CPU rendering the graphics (I think..) which definitely shows why a video card is needed for 3D rendering.

The test is supposed to be like that... It does all the physics calculations and rendering on the CPU.... No CPU in the world can run that test smoothly. Nothing to worry about.

Quad core gets 2-3 FPS, dual core is 1-2. Like these guys said, its rendering the whole thing on the CPU.
