E8400 vs E8500?

Is there any real difference between the two? I'm looking to upgrade my E2180 so these are the two I'm deciding between at the moment. Here are my current specs

Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Intel E2180@3.0 Ghz
Visiontek ATI Radeon 4870
4GB A-Data DDR2 800
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
Corsair TX750

Also, any suggestions on fans/heatsinks? Figure if I upgrade I might as well do better than stock cooling.
 
Not much difference, some have said they regretted getting the 5 because after o/c, they're pretty much equivalent.

For heatsink recommendation, Search, as that topic is covered by thousands of threads.
 
If $15 isn't a significant difference to you, I'd go with the E8500.

You can decide for yourself (many people are now going for the top 2 - Sunbeam/Xigmatek) and find the heatsinks on Newegg or some other websites.

So you dont have an opinion on cooling or know anything about heatsinks and which ones are good? :confused:

Instead of saying just search you should said nothing at all or provided your opinion on a good HSF.
