I just replaced a 6600 with a nice shiny E8400, and at the same time I replaced an old Koolance CPU block with a D-tek and the Pro-Mount kit (with the backplate). I'm seeing much higher temps that I was expecting using this setup though.
At idle, 23C ambient, I am seeing around 41C, and 49-52C full load. No overclocking.
I have a 3/8" ID system with a 2x120 fan radiator, a relatively small pump/res combo, and a DD 8800GTX cooler in the loop. My 8800 GTX temps seem about the same as before, 45-46C idle and 55-58C full load.
I've checked the mount of the block, and it seems good, good contact all around in the AS Ceramique imprint on the CPU and the block. I've tried switching between the original mount and the Pro-Mount on the D-tek, and haven't seen any change.
Do the D-Tek nozzles really make a difference here? Do I need one of them in this setup, and if so, which one? I'd rather not take the thing apart ten times to figure it out. (unless that's what it takes)
