what is every obe getting for their overclock with the fsb n multiplyer n voltages? also say if i raised the fsb to 400, that would give me a 3.6 ghz over colck, but how much would that overclock the memory? and if its alot would i need better memory or would avergae stuff do the job? thanx

It would only overclock your memory if you left it linked and you increased your qdr over the speed of the memory. If you have 800mhz ddr2 you can qdr to 1600 (3.6ghz on that chip) and be 1:1. You want to run your DDR2 in 1:1.

There was a whole thread around here somewhere with OCs for the E8400.

My E8400 is:
SLAPL MALAY
q748a413

And I've got:
445 FSB, 9x multi (4005Mhz)
Puts my RAM at 890 (Some Gskill DDR2-1000 stuff)
CPU Core: 1.39v
DIMM: 2.00v

All other voltages stock.

YMMV, Offer not Valid in Rhode Island, California, or Michigan. Some limitations may apply.

I'm comfortable leaving it at 3.6ghz and letting speed step drop it to 2400 to save power.

I run mine at 600fsb X 9 multi, that puts my PC5400 ram at 1200mhz with 4-4-4-12 timings

vcore 1.72v
vdimm 2.53v

:D

My q9550 is running at 3.58 (on stock cooling and the voltage is around 1.264-1.275) DDR2 pc6400 Patriot LLK 4 gig kit at 421 mem speed, Asus P5K-e Wifi Mobo Syste, FSB = 1684 for total of 3.580 ghz.

Mem will do much faster but i havnt messed with it since swapping out my conroe e6750 (stable at 3.40 for 2+ months on stock cooling and voltage)

mem is at 5-5-5-12 2t at 2.2 volts 1:1

I'm pretty jealous of these numbers. The most I can get out of my E8400 is 3.825 at 1.4. It will post all the way up to 4.2 ghz but getting into Windows is another story. I can boot Vista Ultimate 64 at 4.05 ghz but I'm not able to run OCCT at all. Nothing close to 4 ghz is stable. That includes >~3.9. I've upped the vcore to as high as 1.45 without success. This is on a EVGA 790i Ultra, 4gb G-skill DDR3 1600, and a TRUE 120. CPU temps max out at 50c after 8 hours at 3.825 running OCCT.

Yeah I can 3.6 at stock vcore. My chip can go higher but my ram can't lol I am already at the lowest strap speed wise for memory and its running ddr2-890 I need to order like 1066 sometime in the near future to push it harder. I wouldn't be surprised if it hit 4.3-4.4 at like 1.4vcore max
