Got my E8400 running at 4.0 Ghz on an Asus P5E. I'm currently cooling it with a Zalman 9500. My max temp as reported by coretemp is 58C when both cores are loaded down with Orthos. Here's my question. I also have a Tuniq Tower, which was on my old motherboard. Do you guys think it would be worth it to pull out everything and install the Tuniq? Or is the temp the Zalman's giving me okay.

Your opinions are welcome.
 
It all depends on you. But the Tuniq Tower does cool better . If it was up to me i would use the better cooler to get the lowest temps. even if i had to take everything out to install it. But then again its up to you :)

The P5E is a very nice board im sure with a better cooler you can push 4.2 + :p , im waiting for my parts to get here so i can build mine , btw whats ur core voltage at ?

I changed it. It was worth it... 49C max under full load now. I'm running it at 1.4 volts atm.
 
So is almost everyone getting 4GHz out of this chip? It reminds me of the old Celeron 300A @ 450 and the Pentium 4 2.4C which I currently have at 3Ghz.
 
wow the turniq did that much better eh?

i have a zalman 9500 as well. so maybe it might be worth it investing some money intto a better cooler.

I am running at 4.0 ghz (500x8) Orthos stable, and my brother is running at 446*9. Temps are kind of screwy, I am running 1.405 in bios and my idle temps were around 48-50, which is crazy, because it doesnt feel hotter than my GPU. Changed bios to beta version 16.05, now my idle temps are around 40-42, yet they can jump 5 degrees instantly and then right back down, doing nothing. Not quite sure about the temp monitoring.

after doing a good amount of reserach, the thermalright 120 extereme has the crown as the best heat sink on the market (for now at least)

what type of ram are you running in your rig?
