This is my second overclock. I replaced my e6750 with the E8400. I had the E6750 running 24/7 at 3.6 stable (was stable at 3.75 but backed off a bit for daily use). I want to have the E8400 around 4.2 ish. Right now when I overclock higher than 3.9 it will not post. 3.9 runs Prime overnight no problem. The rest of the set up is in my sig. I have the CPU running 1.35ish (I put +.16 in BIOS) on the vcore. Thanks for any help guys. Like I said, I am new to this and the whole voltage thing is new to me. I have tried adding volts to both the FSB and NB (not much and it doesn't seem to change anything), but nothing happens when it doesn't post until I CLR CMOS and have to start from square one again.

Ok, I wanted to find out if it had anything to do with the FSB limiting it. Didn't how it could as I had the E6750 up to 450. Well, I lowered the multiplier to 8 and now have the FSB up to 470 with the E8400. I upp'd the NB volts some to get this as the first time it wouldn't post. Didn't touch the FSB volts. Running Prime95 on it right now. Vcore is at 1.30. So right now I am at 3.76 with an 8x multiplier. Am I not suppose to touch the FSB volts? Is that the cause for the no post. Never tried it before only raising the NB. I will run Prime95 like this for an hour or so and then try and raise the FSB some more before going back to 9x multiplier. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again!
