E8400 & E3110 availability and pricing in Canada

The pricing and availability seems pretty bad here in the frozen north. Does anyone know of any american stores that ship to Canada that have them closer to MSRP? $249 CAD from NCIX for the E8400 which has a MSRP of $183 USD seems a bit too expensive to me. The best option I can find in Canada is the E3110 for $218 which is still a rip imo considering the dollar is about par.

Edit: Looks like that E3110 is the LGA771 counterpart judging by the numbers in the product title on NCIX but with the part number for the LGA775 listed. :\
 
will be watching this thread, never found a store that could reliably match the US online prices
 
Picked up one last week from NCIX via Ebay. Got it for $229 CDN plus two free games which was $20 less than they were selling it for online and at there retail locations.

The week before they were selling for $219 and just before they sold out yesterday they bumped the price up to $239.

One week ago NCIX has about 50 instock. Zero now. I only looked online for the E8400 after looking around Toronto for one after Asus updated my MB to handle the new Wolfdale Core Duo line.

It arrives on Monday and I can hardly wait to see how this baby performs.
 
Remember, if you buy something from the US and ship it up to Canada you are going to have to pay duty fees, and most of the time it will end up being more expensive than just buying the product in Canada. I know this all too well, bought a bunch of paintball stuff and had it shipped up here and it cost a lot more than if i was to drive 2 hours to the closest place that sells anything even paintball related and pay for their horribly priced equipment. Also happened on a guitar i bought.

This depends on how it is shipped.

Ship via United States Postal Service and there is a $5.00 handling fee plus if it is over $60CDN you will have to pay your taxes.

Avoid at all costs shipping via UPS as anything over $20CDN will cost you $15 plus taxes as soon as it is $20.01 and works on a progressive scale from there up.
 
Duties and shipping charges are two different things.

As the previous poster says - avoid parcel delivery services like the plague! They charge ridiculous surcharges on shipping to cover brokerage. Stick with the postal service (USPS to Canada Post).

Duties are levied on products not covered by NAFTA. If the product is not American, there will likely be a duty. An Intel CPU is likely covered as an American product, regardless of where it was actually manufactured. Always check before you place your order.

Just check the sales on Wensdays and the midnight madness stuff a few times a week.You'll get it cheaper then 249 for sure.I just picked up a Q6600 G0 retail box for 249 + 8.99 for overnight from Vancouver to Ottawa !.
 
If you don't live too far from the border, maybe make a weekend drive/vacation.. usually it's the opposite & we're going up there for skiing & camping :D

but hey, we've got a great selection of ... :rolleyes: ..... Movie theatres, retail & outlet clothing stores, & firearm sales!

But you may end up paying duties on it. Made in Malaysia and all that.

Firearm sales... ;_; What I would give for a high-cap magazine AR15/M14. I could care less if it was semi auto only...

It would take me 6 hours driving and then however long for a ferry to get to Seattle from here. But... I have always wanted a p90 and g36 ...for hunting.
