Hi, just wondering if anyone has tried to run their E8400 at 7*533?

I have a 780i EVGA motherboard, an E8400 processor and Mushkin DDR2-1066 memory.

Also, what are some of the most common E8400 setups to use?
9*400=3.6GHz
9*445=4GHz
8*500=4GHz

7*533=3.73GHz?

I really didn't want to have to bump up the voltage too much. So, I figured 7*533 would be a nice choice if the MB could handle it.
 
that board has a fsb nowhere near that:eek: its 1333MHz... your trying to push to 2132MHz... thats a big push... i think you're gonna have to sacrifice some ram speed and just up the multiplier... im really just guessing but i'd guess your limit is somewhere around 1600MHz...

id try to start at 400 X 9 / ram 800 and give the boards fsb a bit more juice
 
I just wondered, I can run mine all day at 445x9 and I see other people getting 8X500 out of theirs. Didn't know if anyone had reached 533 at 1:1?
 
I personally just run my E8400 @ 3.6GHz for daily use. I don't see much point in running it any higher since I'm already getting over 70 FPS in all the games I play. Might as well save the chip life for when I need to actually crank to like 4.0GHz+ to get more performance.
 
I've seen reports of people getting their FSB all the way up to 600mhz so its possible but highly unlikely you'll get it that high without some extra volts (read: a lot) and some more cooling. I'm struggling getting my P35 up to 450ish fsb but its rock stable at 400fsb for a 3.6GHz overclock which I'm happy with because I don't need to up the vcore at all.
