Hey guys...I just got my UD3P set up, and I fucking love it!!! The BIOS is a little overwhelming at first, but its pretty easy.

Here is my set up..

E8400 @ 4.0ghz with S1823 HSF\bolt through kit
8gb ddr2-800mhz g.skill ram
GAP45-UD3P mobo
800w BFG psu
x2 250gb seagate HDs in Raid 0
Coolermaster HAF with x4 120mm x38mm on side panel, and 2 on top for exhaust, 3000rpm Ultra Kaze fans.
4850x2

Getting this thing to run at 4.0ghz was so easy, I don't trust it. I even booted into Windows at 4.5ghz, but wasn't nearly stable.

I just ran through Orthos for 5 min, before getting an error. I then did 10 min of intel burn test, and my max temp never went above 72c.

Here is a screenie of volts etc...what could I do to try and make it run a bit cooler?

I let the ATI auto tune, do it's thing...and I'm pretty happy with the results! 45c idle, should I push it harder? =P

If its not stable currently at 4.0Ghz, up the voltage a bit more. Your 1.328v might not be enough. I had to give my E8400 1.4v in BIOS to run Prime95 8 hours w/o errors.
But watch your temps. Mine wouldnt go above 60 with a Scythe Katana2. 72 is already too high.
 
Yeah....I'm a little worried about the temps. Is there anything I can lower aside from the vcore that will reduce the cpu temp? -.^
 
Was able to drop my vcore down 3 notches to...1.296 in cpuz. Didn't get past 65c after 5 min of IBT, I think I will just keep dropping it down until I can't boot into windows, then...up 1-2 notches.
 
Dunno man...still seems high considering your cooler. Try reseating it first - if that doesnt help, lapping.
 
Yeah, it still seem very high. With my previous mobo, I couldn't get past 3.6ghz with ASUS P5K-SE. I'll prolly just drop it back down to 3.6ghz with 800mhz on ram and have no problems *shrug*
 
Got the e8400 to 3.6 GHz by setting the CPU voltage to 1.2675. Can't wait to see it go up to 4.0 GHz.

First of all, you're using an old version of Real Temp, so your temps aren't being reported properly. Go and grab the latest version (3.0) and then see what you get. Secondly, even if you hit the low 70s, you're still fine. The maximum safe temperature for your CPU is 100C, after which the CPU will throttle itself automatically and then shut down if it continues to get too hot. My personal comfort zone for long-term operation is 20C or more from Tjmax, which would be 80C or lower for your particular chip. However, 70s is perfectly fine, especially if you're only getting that high during stress-testing.
