Hey guys,

Long time reader, rare poster! I've got a E7300 running stock right now. My idle temps are, according to CoreTemp:

38 degrees C for both cores

Under load using Prime95 my temps are:

44-46 degrees C for both cores

Are these decent for stock cooling? I may OC in the future, but I'm trying to get a handle on the system at stock speeds first.

Thanks,
orgcaptainnemo

I'm using RealTemp, and am getting 29C on both cores at idle. My system is stock. Your temps seem fine, maybe just bit high. Are you using the stock cooling heatsink? How's your air circulation?

Using RealTemp I get about 33C on each core at idle. My system is stock as well, using the Intel HSF. I didn't even replace the thermal pad however, and I bet using some thermal paste in there would lower temps a bit.

Any suggestions on a good mid range HSF for this CPU?

The Xigmatech HDT-S1283 / OCZ Vendetta 2 is a good option, though remember to get the bolt-thru kit for it. Pushpins suck.

Another option would be the ZeroTherm Nirvana NV120.
