Not long ago, to reach 20K ones must use xtreme cooling on cpu and gpu....Not now:) Anyone with this chip can do it with stock air cooling;)
Heres the reason...

With its predecessor..P3 1000 :)

All air cooling..

Intel X975BX rev.304 motherboard with 0908 bios
TT Big Thypoon with Delta 120'EHE fan and 1.41Vcore
OCZ 5400EB @2.2V
X1900CF
Zippy 850W psu

This is the second revision chip after A1 and probly before C1 stepping which is going to be retail version...

Aquamark3 scaled to 179K :)

'06..

shouldn't you blurr the codes on the chip... since its an ES, could get someone in trouble?

For testing (Intel X975BX rev.304) purpose only and not for sale/no commercial value ;)

Merom already returned to the maker:)

Aopen board can't utilize all its power :( ..Its best to run Merom on Notebook for now, untill some mobo maker can release a better 975 mobo for mobile cpu.

:( Thats to bad, I guess good for a water/air cooled computer. (although the water cooling would probably be useless). Are you talking about the fsb problem as well as the cold problem?

hrm... i'm gonna guess you've got about 1000 pm's now? :) If you happen to have 1001 conroes to give out, lemme know. ;)

It seems as if those ES of Conroes are getting more plentiful.
Or maybe its just that the motherboards for them are easier to get now.
As initially over at XS their big problem was finding a mobo to run them in.

Gigabyte announced their 965 mobo. It looks like its almost time.

Damn it, I wish Intel would release Conroe a little early!

Well, I personally dont have any of them. I know someone who does. Actually only got 2 PMs. They are far from free.

Hi.. well i am using amd for the past 4-5 years and now conroe got my attention, those bench looks pretty amazing.

I am just wondering why you are not raising the cpu frequency insted of just raising the fsb? I am sure you can raise that conroe over 3.2ghz :p

edit: oh i just saw the cpuid, Why cpuid says you are a 3380mhz and cpuz says you are at 2ghz? did you really lower the multi down to 6 or its still at 10?

When idle, intel's Speed Step technology automatically brought the cpu to lower state (Multiplier and Vcore)...I guess it came from VIV.

This cpu is hot, I need a better cooling to push it more without going crazy with vcore.

So the question is...

Do I get the E66 or the E67 to oc to the E68?
The price difference between the E66 and E67 could be the mobo/ram difference to reach the E68...but on the other hand would the E67 have more potential to reach the E68?

Well I guess we'll have to see how this develops as more of these chips get out to people.

I want to hear the comments from all the AMD guys who said that all the Conroe benchies were rigged by Intel. We've got multiple confirmations from independant [H] members that Intel's new processor is indeed a monster.

I'm wonder how well my E6600 will overclock when I get it on launch day. I've got almost the same heatsink as you, so we should be similar, ya?

Oh yeah, do ES Conroes have unlocked multis? ;)
