E6700 Temps Question

Guys, I Just installed an E6700 in my system in my signature and am starting to overclock it however the Temps seem high for a C2D.

NO OC at 2.66 38 degrees C Idle with the Zalman 9700 on full speed.

at 3.0 and 3.3 ghz its idling at 51-48 and load is 60-62 using prime95 and all temps reported using Core Temp.

PC specs are in my Sig and I did us AS5 to install the Zallman it wouldnt be fully hardened up yet however it should be lower.

Those idle temps do seem a bit high for a 9700. Try using other temp motioring software as well to make sure you're getting proper readings. I'm not so sure about the airflow in the Smilodon so maybe try running with the case open. Another problem could be if you had any kind of struggling with installing the heatsink, you may have botched the TIM application a bit. Also, how's the ambient temp?

I have upgraded the fans in the Smilodon from the original stock ones and the ambient is about 78.4F according to the thermometer in the room. I have checked PC Probe 2 and Speedfan for temps and all are within a Degree of each other. I am just a bith suprised I am comming form an Pentiem EE 3.73 that was OC to 4.53 and the temps were cooler in the same setup and that chip was supposed to run hotter than my current one.
