Hi,

I'm starting this thread because my last thread lead onto this but had the completely wrong title so I'm not sure if the right people might look at it!!

Basically here's the situation:

E6700 was idling at stock speeds and stock fan @ 55-57 degrees
E6700 idles now with Scythe Infinity at 45 degrees, but 100% load goes up to 80

When I mounted the Scythe and was getting absurd idles going up into the high 60s, so I turned it off and repushed all the clips down. Now, as I said, it's "only" 45, however, the computer was on for 15-20 mins with one of the clips not 100% into place. Could the thermal paste have dried up if there was no contact and lots of heat? Should I completely remount the Scythe with new thermal paste? I need to buy some new thermal paste, so which should I go for?

Please help, I spent all my money and have crap results!! :(

I am having the same issues with high idle and load temps on my E6400. 45-48 idle... and 72-70 load. And I am at stock clock speeds. :(
