Well i just picked up a E6600 and a P5B Deluxe and i need some help OC'ing it...

Background information:
Case: p180 with 3 120mm
PSU: XCLIO 500 Watt
Drives: 3 320 Seagate Sata & 1 IDE DVDRW
GPU : passive cooled x1600 Pro
PCI-Hauppuage 250 pvr
Ram OCZ 2 GB 6400 Gold XTC 5-5-5-12 800mhzm 2.1v

Questions

1...Which HSF?? I currently have 2 HSF a Zalman 9700 cu and a Thermaltake Big Typhoon...Which will be better??

2...What voltages for ram and CPU?

3...What temperatures are normal for load and idle?

4...I want to achieve 3.6 running at 9x400?

5... Should i have vanderpool enabled?

Any and all help will be appreciated
Thanks

1. probably Zalman.

2. whatever your particular situation requires. only as much as you need, some might say turn ram straight to 2.2+v, but some ram performs worse (overheats) with more volts. There are NO blanket right voltages. You can try 1.45v-1.50v for the cpu & 2.1-2.2 for the ram, you shouldn't need "extra" on the ram b/c at 9x400 (with 1:1 ram ratio) you'd be at spec.

3. 30-40C's for idle, high 50's to low 60's C for load

4. GOOD LUCK!! you'll need it

5. nah, turn off the extra features like C1E, etc. I'm 99.999% sure you won't be needing Vanderpool.

so with the zalman or thermaltake my temps will still be in the 60's under full load??

I had a Pentium D before this OC to 3.4 and its temps were under 55 full load and that was Pentium d 805 Prescott....

I thought the C2D would run cooler??

Probably high 50's. May hit 60C on occasion.

Keep in mind your ambient room temperature too. In the summertime, my temps get much higher. Also, don't expect that it is a given your will get 3.6 on air. As 3.6 isn't a normal OC on the 6600.

Personally, I'd use the Big Typhoon. That's what I've got and I can get my 6600 to 3.5 Orthos stable for about 8 hours with timings of 4-4-4-12 on my G. Skill Memory. My temps under Orthos load top out at about 68 degrees or so.

However, I run it lower for everyday use at 3.42 with timings of 3-3-3-8My temps at that are about 52 degrees regularly and under Orthos load at about 60 degrees.
