Here is my current OC aswell as the voltages and temps:
E6600 C2D from 2.4Ghz to @3.6Ghz
Nvidia monitor application (Idle)
CPU 47c | System 37c | GPU 43c
The voltages used are:
CPU 1.5625v
FSB 1.3v
Memory 2.300v
nForce SPP 1.45v
nForce MCP 1.50v
Aux 1.50v
SPP is southbridge and MCP is northbridge?
When people say raise the NB I always assumed they meant the MCP setting.
Core Temp 0.95 (Idle)
core0 @ 48c with delta to tjunction temp at 37c
core1 @ 46c with delta to tjunction temp at 37c
default VID is 1.3250v
At full load using orthos small fft cpu stress test this averages between
CPU 59c - 63c | System 38-39 | GPU 44-46c
Which brings me to asking what test is best?
I've been using small fft cpu stress test and cpu stress test gromac core. I've also read where people say open two of these processes together so that it pushes both cores to the max, do I need two of the same processes running at once?
How much damage is being done to my CPU at such high temps? If my temps are within a good range, then I now have a stable 3.6Ghz. If they are not, please tell me what I can do to reduce the load temp. Would it benefit me to drop to an 7/8x multiplier and come back up to 3.6Ghz that route?
I also tried another route which resulted in great temps, but it wasn't very stable.
-SLI Ready memory mode: Expert * It automatically overclocked the ram to be in sync with the new FSB setting while also configuring the voltages and everything.
Still very new to all of this overclocking stuff
Thanks
