I have tried everything i can't get the e6600 to 4ghz.. The most i have gotten was 3.8 ghz my temps are reading 17c so i know it is not my temps. Have anyone heard of 4ghz on this? If anyone has any information that might help to get to 4Ghz let me know how to.. Thanks any help will help

i even ran the cpu voltage up to 1.8v and still no go.
memory is running @ 800 1:1
specs below

500 watt psu runing motherboard and GPU
400 watt psu running and CDrom and fans
eVGA 680i motherboard
eVGA 8800 GTX
sound blasteraudigy
1GB partiot memory 667
80 gb sata Hd

What kind of cooling are you using I think E6600 general top out at 3.2-3.5GHZ, range. Above that is pretty rare, with only a select few getting to 3.6GHZ+, 4.0GHZ isn't common period.

i have a custom water kit, im using pure water with a fish aqirium chiller and a freezer. tempertures arent my problem right now the temps are very very low 16c

Sometimes a CPU will just hit a wall no matter how cool it is or how many volts you push through it. Sounds like that's your case.

I don't think your memory would take too well at 800 if its DDR2-667, add in a multiplyer and lower that RAM speed, it might be what's holding you back.

WOW, with that awesome setup and you are only using DDR2 667mhz.....

1: Not all CPU's can reach 4ghz. It's a matter of luck

2: If yours could, trying different memory would help you get there. Get DDR2 1000mhz, or some very good, overclockable DDR2 800mhz (G.SKill 2GBHZ PC2-6400)

For 4ghz you'll need a 445 FSB and your RAM running @ 890mhz. You should also be maxing out the voltages for the VFSB and VMCH.

I can get this ram to run @ 950mhz so do you think if i turned it up to 890 mhz it might be possible? i was running just 800mhz think it needs more to get the cpu to run?

You dont need new ram...it's prolly D9 and it'll do ddr1000 with enuff voltage.. like 2.2v-2.4v

Make sure ur FSB:MEMORY ratio is set correctly... and if your memory can reach 950 then your cpu just can't handle more that 3.8... it's ok it happens...that's still an awsome overclockl.
