I do not plan to overclock, might later on... What is the best way to go? Use the OEM heatsink or go with aftermarket and if so which one...?

Here's the outer limits of what a C2D is capable of with the Intel heatsink and fan.
I boosted up the MHz and gave it 1.48 volts under full load to create some serious heat.
If I can ever get 4+ hours out of this thing without it catching on fire I'll submit it to the [H] OC database as the quickest Intel cooled E6400.
I gave it a run at 1.55v for almost 8 hours and she held stable at 71C under my Thermalright XP120

I am running the same speed at 1.5vcore and I am under 70c loaded with a Vapochill Micro.
If your going to clock that high, for gods sakes spend $30 and get an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and drop your temps into the 40's. No reason at all to punish your CPU with temps like those just to say you did it on stock cooling. If you have enough money to build the system, you surely have $30 to save your processor if your going to clock that high.![]()
