Well, this is odd. My system has been quite stable for the past couple of months, but it suddenly started acting up yesterday. Basically, Windows locks up (freeze, not BSOD) after a couple of minutes. I don't have to be doing anything, it just locks up after a few minutes. I have absolutely no problem in the BIOS, while booting, or anything -- just while in Windows (XP SP3).
Hell, I can even finish running Everest benchmarks before it crashes.
So, I tried a lot of various changes, and the only one that seemed to work was putting the CPU FSB back down to stock (1333 MHz). Overclocking makes it very unstable. It's incredibly odd, because I can even boot at 3.5 GHz (2000/4 x 7), 3.0 GHz (2000/4 x 6), and also low frequencies like 2.71 GHz (1550/4 x 7). However, they all crash after just a couple of minutes in the OS. I've tried vcore from stock to 1.475v, and they all fail.
Frustrated, I just flashed my BIOS with P32 from the standard 680i board, which unlocked various extra voltage settings. Unfortunately, they didn't help. Still unstable. It's not my RAM, because overclocking it without OCing the CPU is rock solid, but running it at even 667 MHz with my CPU OCed still locks up.
I seem to have a FSB hole somewhere between 1600 and 2000, but I haven't looked into it too much, all I know is that 500 seems to work.
CPU Core / VID: 1.475V (shows 1.44V as current value)
CPU FSB / VTT: 1.5V
Memory: 2.0V
nForce SPP: 1.45V
nForce MCP: 1.5V
HTT: 1.3V
Any ideas? Could it be nTune causing the crashing? (I don't touch anything except fan settings with nTune.)
