Hey guys,

Need your advice here. I just setup a new system with water cooling. Here are my specs:

E6420- L646G523
Gigabyte 965P DS3 rev 3.3
Gskill PC6400 800 4-4-4-12 (2.0v-2.1v)

Following Bill's guide, I was able to push this cpu to 3.44Ghz @ 430X8 1.478v in bios
with memory at 1:1.

Memory voltage is (1.8v) +.3=2.1v
FSB voltage is +.1
MCH voltage is +.1
PCIE is 102

So here's my question. Should I be happy with this because I can't push it any further and accept that is my cpu's limitations. My idle temps is 17C-20C and I ran a Super Pi 1M test with a score of low 15s to high 14s. I don't know if this is good or not for my setup. I was shooting for at least 3.6Ghz with this processor. I am a noob at over clocking so please help me.

what do you want recognition here? I mean honestly you should be happy it runs at stock whatever you OC it is a bonus. I dont think it's up to us if it's good enough. You tell us does it fit your needs?

idle 17c to 21c on an overclocked system?

temps seem to be really low for an overclocked system even if it is watercooled.

are e6430 temps that low to begin with?

I'm not here to show off or anything like that. This is my first try with overclocking and I'm a noob at this. I was hoping for at 3.5Ghz with this processor on water and I think this processor can do but I don't know what else to do. And yes, Bios temps is around 18C and while Coretemp program is around 19C-22C idle. With this DS3 board, I don't see any option to change memory timings. Either I dont' see or don't know how to do it.

nice oc, i recommend using core temp to grasp a more realistic temperature readouts. Other then that run it under a dual prime or orthos for at least 12 hours to make sure its stable, also what i like to do is throw up 3dmark 06 while that is running.

BAD BAD OC.

you got over 3.2...be happy. Very happy.

I wouldnt be. My 6420 did 3.5 and I wanted more so I ordered a 6600 :B

To change the memory timings, you need to adjust the "advanced" settings in the BIOS.

Per page 32 of the manual, hit Ctrl-F1 from the main menu. Memory timings are with the other clock/voltage settings under the MB Intelligent Tweaker sub-menu. :)

Is that a suicide shot?

I'll have almost identical setup in a few days.6420, quadGT, 2gb ballistix tracers, and waiting on the vid card to see if 8800 prices go down in 11 days.
Will be watercooled, so hopefully some good oc fun.

hey 3.7, is that stable? Got any stable after shots? What were your setting and cooling methods? I'm not asking for me as much as I think alot of people could benefit from your experience. Or was it a "suicide shot" as already asked ?
