Hi Everyone. I've recently upgraded my computer, here are the specs:

e6400 @ 3.0ghz (375 x 8, 1.288vcore)
MSI P6N Sli-Fi
OCZ Platinum XTC 2x1GB PC6400 4-4-4-15 (auto 1.9v?)
Sapphire X1800XT 512mb (flashed with PE) w/ Accelero X2
Onboard sound
Scythe Mine HSF, P180B, Seasonic S12 500w

I'm currently at 3.0ghz with a 15:16 ratio 375fsb:400ram. I haven't changed any voltages on any components it's all bios stock right now and my temps are ~41-44 idle and ~51-55 load. I didn't do any extensive stress testing after the OC, and all seemed fine, but then yesterday I locked up after about 1.5hours of Oblivion. So... off to the races:

I ran memtest86 overnight (10 passes) and i completed that with flying colors then I went on to Orthos but my computer locked up after 5.5hours.

My question is what is the most likely solution, should i creep my vcore up one notch? Or should i work with the NB voltage? Another thing is that the Scythe Mine doesn't blow air anywhere near the passive NB heatsink on the board. It's pretty dang hot to the touch, could that be locking the computer, might I put a fan there to solve this?

My goal is 3.2ghz, but i wanna get 3.0 locked down and stable before I move on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used the same vcore as you upto around the 3.0 mark and it was stable, but to get it Orthos stable at 3.2, I have to up it to 1.3625.

My advice would be to up the vcore a notch or two.

Good Luck!:)

first off 650i chipset tops out around 3.2 anyway. i had a p5n-e and it stopped at 3.2 anyway yeah bump up your vcore but then watch the thermals in relation ok? run TAT and Speedfan and watch the junction temp not the core temps at 100% load. i am running at 3.5 at 1.38v on water idle 39 load 50 mem at 930 5-4-4-15 1t on 680i the 650 got me to 3.2 and 820mhz at 1t board would not run anything past 820 at 1t so i dumped it. this evga 680i is nice A1 revision. liking it :)
