E6400 & 7950GX2....

if you can afford a 7950GX2, you should be able to get at least the E6600. 4mb cache for less than an extra 100 bucks, plus you probably don't even have to overclock it and can put less stress on it.

Maybe that extra $100 is what lets him afford the 7950gx2? At any rate, he didn't ask "Can you analyze my financial situation?"

I'd say go with the 6400.
 
Sounds fine to me. If not, just overclock it a lil bit ;) That'll straighten any bottlenecks right out.

You're right. The only reason i'm going for a higher end card is because I will have a larger monitor (2407) and didn't want to have problems with the resolutions.
 
the 6400 will be fine. If you're paranoid about it, pick up some decent overclocking RAM and overclock your processor (maybe 400mhz or so if you want to feel better)
 
Got a E6300 today and should have it for tommorrow afternoon in post .Cant wait to overclock it.
