its nice to see them available, but with the price cuts less than 3 weeks away, it would be foolish to purchase one now, unless you absolutely HAD to have it...
 
Bah they ship only with UPS to Canada... That's like 50$ minimum custom fees... No thanks i'll wait.

Their clock speeds are 2.13GHz and 1.86GHz respectively. They support 1066MHz FSB. In other words, their only difference from the Core 2 Duo E6400 and E6300 is the large L2 cache. And since they cost the same as their predecessors, Core 2 Duo E6420 and E6320 will eventually oust them from the market."
 
And they are still expensive so I will wait for the price cut to get mine.

AND you know they're going to be a recent week = HOPEFULLY better overclockers!!

Intel has probably tweaked their 65nm process + Core2 masks so the yields are probably good enough, where they can get A LOT of 4Mb chips, and then relegate the few failed chips to the cheapest chips. 4300/4400, etc. Even though most of those will probably be made with the real allendale (smaller 2Mb only) die.

Great on line company with fast and reasonably priced shipping.

If demand is high that great price might go up so you better order now.

even 208 for e6420 is great price. cheaper than e6400 currently and has 4mb.
 
Also the e6300 and e6400 are now supposedly Allendale-based. I have one myself, but have yet to recieve the DS3 that I bought along side to find out exactly how it clocks.

Yeah I know NCIX I purchased my Mobo (EVGA 680i SLI) and Ram (OCZ Titanium VX2 PC8000) last week from them eheh. I didn't know they have it listed already thank you for the head up. I actually received a credit for the RAM when I opened a ticked after my pricematch got accepted but the ram dropped in price at the same time about 100$ less than the pricematch amount. With the extra money I might just head straiught for Q6600 after the pricedrop.

NCIX = Great service indeed
 
I ordered a E6420 from shopblt just now. Says new stock will come in tomorrow so hopefully I get it soon.

I doubt the price drops anytime soon. The E6420 and E6320 weren't supposed to be released until the price drops.

shouldn't be worse than how the newer week conroes are doing. that said, it could be as bad as 2.8-3 with higher volts, or still at least 3.2 on average. so worst comes to worst, you'd still be in x6800 ballpark at worst.

Well, they weren't lying. They came in today. 700+ in stock of the 6420's! This will probably be the new OC'ing King chip for a while.

You get the extra few % points of performance from the 4Mb of L2 cache. The higher multiplier (than a 6300/6320) so you don't need a SUPER FAST mobo/ram combo. etc.

Waiting to see some results on these!
 
i'm guessing it'll be oos real soon again. i'd imagine huge amounts would be moving to retailers

If you go to the NCIX site, you will see the price for the 6420 listed as $324.90 and the ETA on arrival is April 19th. 6320 is $279.30

Can you post a link showing that price. When I first checked their site and clicked on Check Stock, they showed the E6420 processors coming in on the 12th but now it shows the 19th like you said.
 
NCIX is pretty good and its even open on Sundays......

They have 2 SKU#s for thier E6420, one is for $324 and the other for $253 both has the same part# too..... I ordered ( just to test ) one using the $253 sku and my order went through no problem so Im thinking the higher price is just temporary.... They will probably change it to the cheaper price once its available or after April 22.......

I better cancel my order now lol.....
 
I ordered the E6420 yesterday and it was processed today and should ship tomorrow according to the email. The website says I should get it 5 days from when it ships.

e6400 vs e6600? are you referring to allendale e6400's? if so, then the e6420 should be the same as all the other conroes, except maybe lower bin. but we've seen that there's more variation in week than anything and that goes across the board.

I was asking this because the e6300 and e6400 OC very well with the DS3, while the e6600 does not. The e6600 fares better with the 975 boards. Some were saying that it was because of the 4MB cache.

So now that the e6320 and e6420 have 4MB of cache, will they still OC well with the DS3? I was trying to find an answer to this because I am looking into buying an e6420 and a DS3.

Do you have any evidence to support that?

I just had a look through the [H] OC database and the #2 E6600 is running stable at 4096 MHz on a DS3. That doesn't seem too shabby to me. Good wok hausner!

The next one is at 3843 MHz and there's another one at 3704 MHz. There are also quite a few air cooled ones at ~3500 MHz which is the practical limit for 24/7 operation anyhow.

I think your information might be a little off. The e6600 is fine too. Back i nthe day, they were originally saying to get 975x if you get e6600+ and e63/64 to get p965. This was because of the better performance for the most part in 975x. However, because it wasn't able to scale much beyond 400, it wouldn't do the 63/64 justice. Also, using e66 for example, you should be dropping to 8x multi unless you can do 9x400=3600. This is because if you're trying to creep up on 9x, you may very well run into the fsb hole in the upper 300's.
 
hmm waste of money really. you guys should honestly wait for price drops of the E6600. Going to be $ $224 . spend the few extra bucks for better overclockability. ;) better then getting stuck at a 3ghz wall. when the E6600 has been known to hit 3.6 easily ;)

Sure, in the US... Here it will likely be around $320. $60 for a little bit of upfront benefit may not be worth it.In the US its about a $40 difference, which also may not be quite worth it.

I guess we'll see the benchies...
