Alright, so I've got both of them. I'll be selling a pc to someone, and since he does'nt care much about the CPU, i'd like to know, witch one should I keep, witch one should I sell to him.

The e2200 is 2.2ghz, and by the name it looks older. and the e6300 is 1.8ghz, but looks newer.
assuming i will both, not overclock it, and overclock it, witch is better to keep? I've had a E4300 previously, and it OC'd like madness!

For overclocking, get the E2200 without a doubt. Its built on a much more modern stepping, so it should run alot cooler when overclocking and require less voltage.

For not overclocking, the E6300 has a higher default FSB then the E2200, but I'd still take the E2200 just because its a much more up-to-date chip. It has a higher default speed too.

i would take the e2200 due to the default speed, afterall you said your not going to overlock right?

Keep the e2200 in either case. Then overclock it. I had my e2180 up from 2Ghz to 3Ghz during the colder months. I'm one of hundreds, nay, millions who have done this. The 45nm duals OC like mad. They're stupid good value chips.

oka, yeah. I think the answer is clear: E2200.
What strikes me is: the E2200 is marketed as "Pentium Dual Core" and not "Core 2 Duo"
What's up with that? It's a Core Duo, and not the newer Core 2 Duo?

The e2180 is 65 nm right? You mean the e5200s (45 nm) overclock like mad, or 65 nms as well?

It uses the same architecture as the Core 2 series. However, it is a low-end model with only 512KB of cache per core, so it is branded as a Pentium Dual-Core to differentiate it from the higher-end models.

Love my e6300. It's at 2.9ghz now, but I'm trying for 3ghz. If I was in your shoes I'd keep the e2200.

E2XXX series needs a much higher overclock to even up with a regular dual core E6600+.
