e6300 & 8800gtx

i read alot about cpu bottlenecking and stuff on here...

i already have an e6300 @ 2.4 and am wanting to buy an 8800... is my cpu good enough to keep up with this or should i get an e6600 and overclock that ?

im not one to sit and drool over benchmark numbers i just want a simple explanation and will i notice a difference :-D

Since your rocking H2O I'm assuming your over clocking more? Anyhow if your push it to 2.8-3.0 you'll be no were near a bottleneck imho.(pulled directly out of my ass of course). :D
 
you can get the e6300 upto 2.8 with ease.. 401 fsp.

hmm ive had problems going higher then that. possibly due to ram or such.
 
e6300 + Gigabyte 965P-DS3 + 1.38V + 430FSB = 3.01 Ghz and stable as a rock on air cooling.
ArcticCooling Freezer Pro 7 43 C with full load.
That's my e6300 set up.
That should handle an 8800 GTX just fine.:D
 
You have a really good chance of getting that chip to at least 3GHz stable with decent voltage and temps. I don't think you need to buy a more expensive CPU, just get the max you can out of that one. :)
