So my current linux Desktop has a Pentium Dual Core E5800 in it.

I've recovered an E8400 from an old server (it now has an X3330 in it). Is it worth yanking out my E5800 for the E8400? Primary OS Is linux.....

I'm guessing it probably isn't, but figured I'd ask your guys opinion. I do game a little, but not a whole lot.

it is faster, more cache as well, if you got a decent mobo you can overclock it a good amount!!

If you're running stock, the 8400 is going to be better. But the E5800 is an overclocking monster. My parents unit is a E5800 on a Gigabyte G41 board, and it runs at 4.4ghz. Haven't had a single hiccup with it. Great little chip.
