Nice stuff and just in time for me to build a second server. Never had a socket 2011 board before. Any recommendations? Looking to get 1 cpu and at least 32 GB of ram. Can two 16GB or four 8 GB from different manufacturers and models work together?

I personally use a x9dai from supermicro.. they have other models as well if you want something with IPVM, but unfortunately that one does not.
That mobo is a dual slot with 16 ram slots.. plenty of room for growth! You can run 1 cpu initially. As it's a server, it takes forever to boot up, though.

you can mix modules, I believe you may get some performance lost, but I haven't paid too much attention to that in particular.

Just adding. This is a great seller, I ordered from him on Friday and got my stuff on Monday. Pretty good for CA to FL :) On top of that the memory looked brand new and was packed excellent.
