What's everyone had success with for an E5-1650 CPU cooler that will let the CPU safely run at 80-100% load for a few hours on end, randomly if not 12hours. This is my local dev. database server so it could see stressed loads for hours on end, and remain idle for other hours on end... I simply don't want to stress it and have to re-do the entire cooling, again.

I'd rather do it right the 1st time than do it twice.

I have a 212 EVO on a 5930k and even with the medium RPM Noctua Fans (1 on each side) it will get mid/upper 70*C at 100% load within 10 minutes, but will stay under 80*C after ~1hr no change. (Running PRIME for CPU/Heat). I'm upgrading to the industrial fans so I can run this at 100% and keep it cool, will just kick up the RPM range once it hits 72*C. (It's 70-73*F while running these tests in the room.)

It's going in a 4U case so I can run a big cooler. I have 2 SUPERMICRO SNK-P0050AP4 4U active heat sinks that when tested with E5-2683v3 kept it MUCH cooler than the EVO/5930k combo, but it also idled a bit lower too. (I think the 5930k cranks out the heat.)

Anyway, if I don't run the 212 EVO or the SUPERMICRO SNK-P0050AP4 what else are people running in servers for active coolers?

I'm not sure if this is any better than the SUPERMICRO item I mentioned above, or how it could be better than the EVO with 1 fan, smaller overall.
But it's another option (3U FF) Noctua NH-D9L Dual Heatsink CPU Cooler with NF-A9 fan

And this is compatible, also with a 140mm dual fans, this should be a step up from the 212 EVO I'd imagine:

Now to measure :)

EDIT: After measuring looks like 6" would be PUSHING IT for height in the 4U case. Measuring from mobo stand-offs and giving about 1/8" Guess I'll have to keep this in mind for my 5930k in the future
